Our curriculum for one year and two year olds focuses on three major components: Health, Safety, and Individualized Learning.
We recognize the young child’s powerful instinct to explore and provide every opportunity to do so by first child- proofing the classroom. That means that we will keep the environment safe and clean and free of any hazards in order to allow the child to explore and develop independent and individual logical thinking skills through the experiences we offer.

Low teacher to child ratios are maintained to guarantee quality.
Parents are given daily reports about what their child has ‘discovered’ that day as well as informing you of the details of the day: what has been eaten, nap time, diapering, and any special or significant events. Teachers stay in close contact with parents
The HAPPY TIMES CURRICULUM continues with age-appropriate, fun-filled daily adventures. Our focus is on individually-paced development. We recognize that children grow and mature at very different rates. A natural curiosity about the world, the need to make friends, to build self-esteem and feel successful are encouraged and respected.
Children are ‘taught’ in a play-oriented environment, utilizing interest centers such as block building, housekeeping, art, science, math, music, and more. Your child will be encouraged to intellectualize, develop new ideas and create.
The curriculum is also based on your child’s intense need to “play” and at Adventure Bay we understand why children play. We know that through play, children create, pretend to be grownups or animals , solve puzzles, sort shapes, and lots more. They are born to ‘play’. We also know that all children’s play develops in stages. We know that math is taught through specially designed toys, that reading is learned while pretending, that play dough and paint encourage creativity, that social studies starts with making friends in our classroom.
Voluntary Pre-kindergarten (VPK) for children who turn four by September 1, is also offered at our centers. Please call or visit us for complete information.
Literacy, and an appreciation of the adventures found in reading will be encouraged when your child visits our Library to check out a book or listen to story time narrated by our librarian/media teacher.
Merry Melodies through song and pre-school instruments are conducted by our innovative Music Specialist. A happy combination of music skills, such as music and movement, rhythm, timing and percussion, will be presented to your child to encourage a love of music to last a lifetime.
Motor skills and little muscles will develop in our special preschool indoor Gymnasium when our Physical Education teacher introduces fun-filled activities planned to promote gross and fine motor skills, balance and eye-hand coordination, as well as socialization skills and a sense of well-being.
"Getting-ready-to-read" is taught by our Pre-Reading teacher. Starting at age 4 (by September 1st), children will be given special small group instruction in language development, phonics, letter recognition and creative writing.
Little minds expand in our Computer Center when our Media teacher introduces your child to our media center classroom with eight to ten computers. New worlds of fun await your child's commands while the capacity for intellectual potential grows. Our large, state-of-the-art software library contains the very latest programs available on the preschool level, designed especially for preschool aged children.
Starting at age three, Spanish is taught through music, stories, and conversations by our Spanish Teacher.
